Conducted research on the prevalence of emerging workplace technologies and their impacts on workers
Drafted a working paper about the state of research on the impacts of workplace technologies for the workforce (forthcoming)
Developed a power structure analysis for the United Educators of San Francisco, the teachers union for California's sixth largest school district, alongside senior fellow Jane McAlevey
Created a power structure analysis of San Francisco's real estate, education, and tech sectors for a coalition of community-based organizations advocating for racial, economic, and environmental justice
Interviewed over 30 allied, neutral, and oppositional subjects, including: movement leaders, journalists, elected officials, and corporate executives
Employed strategic research and analysis to develop metrics of absolute and relative power across eight power factors for advocacy organizations, labor unions and membership associations, and local decision-makers

Conducted corporate and political opposition research on the restaurant industry and its political allies in key states across the countryDrafted and edited reports on the racial and economic justice implications of the tipped minimum wage
Managed data collection for a survey of workers focused on racial and gender discrimination and wage theft
Developed and conducted a survey of restaurant managers' experiences with OFW's High Road Kitchens training program, which provided government subsidies and philanthropic funding to restaurants that committed to paying livable wages and increasing equity for employees

Created financial, legal, and legislative opposition research profiles on employers and contractors
Investigated unfair labor practices and wage & workplace standards violations to support organizing campaigns in new sectors, including fast food workers, publicly-contracted utility workers, and homeless shelter security officers
Analyzed market conditions and performed contract costing to understand the union’s ability to negotiate wage/benefit increases
Tracked procurement and commercial development in Connecticut, the Hudson Valley, and Long Island

Pitched and conducted research to guide an initiative to advance a progressive worldview of the economy
Identified gaps in progressive economic policy areas and commissioned research to fill those gaps
Conducted outreach to potential partners and facilitated to discuss strategy and build coalition around progressive economic principles

Research Manager, April 2018 – July 2019
Served as the sole researcher on a seven-figure campaign to hold incumbent Republican House representatives accountable for their votes on health care and taxes. Crafted and implemented research strategy for a similar campaign targeting the US Senate
Edited and fact-checked nearly 100 TV, radio, and direct mail paid communications as well as numerous digital ads and never had an ad taken down due to factual errors or unsubstantiated claims
Managed a full-time research intern for five months; trained two new members of the research team
Vetted prospective partners and ad participants, including public/criminal records searches and news and social media scans

Monitored and analyzed narratives and patterns on cable and broadcast news and in digital news media
Conducted self-selected or assigned short- and long-term media research that has been cited in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Al Jazeera, Newsweek, and Vanity Fair, as well as Khaled Beydoun’s book American Islamophobia
Pitched and wrote content at the intersection of media and a wide range of issues, including: immigration, civil rights, criminal justice, gender, newsroom diversity, and the “alt-right” and fake news ecosystems
