Nina Mast is a researcher and policy analyst committed to building worker power and advancing economic justice.


Nina Mast is a researcher and policy analyst with over ten years of experience leveraging research and strategic communications to build worker power and make our economy more fair. At the Economic Policy Institute, Nina writes and leads research on a variety of economic policies; supports state-level campaigns through policy analysis, technical assistance, and coordination; and regularly represents EPI in media interviews and public testimony. Nina graduated from UC Berkeley’s public policy master’s degree program. During her studies, she worked as a researcher for the UC Berkeley Labor Center and One Fair Wage and served as a union steward for graduate student workers. Before graduate school, she used strategic research to bolster organizing campaigns at SEIU 32BJ, advance a progressive economic worldview at The Groundwork Collaborative, advance issue advocacy campaigns on health care and taxes for The Hub Project, and correct right-wing disinformation at Media Matters for America.
